Title: Yearning for the Wild Blue Yonder, 2017
Have you ever daydreamed of what lies beyond the horizon? What might you be today if you had wandered down a different path?
Some people pray for the courage to grow wings and fly away to the new unknown. Some take the chance and just do it, no matter how scary it may seem.
What about you? Do you yearn to be bold and live a magnificent life? Or do you plan to tip-toe through it, waiting to get safely to death?
I find myself pondering on all these as I was trying to build a comfortable life for my family.
When times were bad, I wanted to just fly away and be free. This painting was done during those times but the love for my family was the strongest magnet.. for me to keep on ploughing through.
And thankfully, I survived and came out much more invincible today.
In this piece, the bottom portion depicts the many struggles and uncertainties. The part where the struggles meet the clear, blue sky is formed like hands and wings, trying to reach out to the beyond.
