Strong Heart, 2017
The backstory:
When I was running my tech startup company a few years back, life was constantly a challenge and I had to do my best to keep everything from breaking. My children were very young and I was the sole bread winner, so I was under much pressure.
One day, I found myself having shortness of breath and that persisted for a few weeks. This got me extremely worried and I took a full medical checkup. However, the doctor said that something was wrong with my heartbeat and I had to take a CT scan.
The wonderful news was that my heart was completely clean from any blockages and quite instantly my difficulty in breathing magically stopped upon the news. I guess it was just anxiety all the while and my heart was still as strong as an ox’s.
That night, I took to the canvas just to relax and to breathe a sigh of relief. As I always painted without any plan but just improvising along the way, my unconscious mind simply guided me to finish this piece.
This work is also very special as I painted it 100% using just my fingers.
There are 2 egg-shaped objects in there and I assume the smaller one is my heart and the bigger one is my heart too. But this time, it is much bigger, bolder and stronger.
